Introducing salaries.bio đź’µ

THE biopharma comms salary tool

Hi!

There’s no “standard” career path in biopharma comms.

No obvious ladder to climb.

No universally accepted milestones.

And while that means you have the freedom to make your own way, it can also make it really tricky to determine if you’re getting paid fairly.

We wanted to do something to change that.

So, in partnership with rvnway, we’re jazzed to share our biopharma mar-comm salary transparency tool, salaries.bio!

Since 2023, we've collected 200+ salary ranges from publicly available mar-comm job descriptions across the industry – from small PR firms to big pharma and everything in between – and input them into the system.

Shirley Mao (who some of you may remember from last summer’s AI Ask Me Anything) and our friends at rvnway have not only made all the data fully accessible, but also searchable and sortable based on role type, seniority, location, and more.

This easy-to-use tool will:

  • Increase pay transparency across our profession

  • Equip talent with relevant data to support new job and promotion negotiations

  • Educate emerging talent on what to expect for potential career progression

While we'll continue to add new salaries from job descriptions, the next step is to incorporate real-world salaries to create an even clearer picture of the pay landscape in our profession.

And that’s where you, the amazing T2B community, come in.

You're invited to anonymously add your salary to the system, as another way to contribute to advancing the profession (you’ll find details on how we’re protecting anonymity, particularly for small comms teams and boutique PR firms, on the intake form).

And there’s yet another way you can help, too. This tool is open to everyone – not just T2B members – so if you could share this with your colleagues and ask them to input their figures too, that would be really appreciated.

Let us know what you think of this tool and if you find it helpful.

P.S: If you’re sharing this with fellow biopharma comms pros, they’ll also no doubt want to know how else they can join our community. So, pass on this link to them:
